The Bluewater Dance Troupe: 2008- 2009

The Bluewater Dance Troupe
The Bluewater Dance Troupe is a competitive dance team made up of students ranging in age from eight through eighteen. In addition to their regular classes, they further their dance technique through our stretch and strength, across the floor, and performance routine classes.
Each season the students learn a number of routines in the fall and later perform these at dance competitions in Ontario and the United States. They are often invited to perform at local functions and have performed at the Imperial Theatre, Victoria Playhouse and the Dow People Place in previous years.
Many dance competitions have workshops associated with them. At these, students have an opportunity to be taught by some of the leading choreographers in the dance industry. Last season, the students were taught by Nick Lazzarini, winner of the "So You Think You Can Dance" nationally televised dance competition, as well as Dan Karaty, and Brian Friedman, who were judges on the show. At last season's Tremaine Dance Competition national finals, the students had an opportunity to meet dance and show business legends Liza Minelli, Ben Vereen and Chita Rivera.
Good sportsmanship, responsibility, dedication and teamwork are qualities learned by students participating in The Bluewater Dance Troupe.
